Cybersecurity, cyberbullying, and cyber-hygiene are critical issues in today’s digital age, as kids are more and more plugged into social media and the internet. The actions that parents can take to ensure the safety of their children must also be well-known to them. With this idea in mind, Modi College Patiala held an interactive workshop led by senior vice president Anurag Acharya (Cyber Security Consultant) and president Arvinder Singh of the Umang Welfare Foundation, with assistance from the college’s staff and supervision. The terms “cyberbullying,” “hacking,” “fishing,” “cloning,” “data theft,” “digital frauds,” and “grooming” were introduced to computer science students. The students were further inoculated with regard to data security and privacy through the sharing of multiple case stories.
