Due to the increased use of social media and the internet by students and teenagers in this digital age, concerns like cyber hygiene, cyber security, and cyberbullying are relevant. Parents must be aware of the safety precautions they should take for their kids. In Punjab State Aeronautical College Patiala, W/Principal Dr. Anju Sharma, President Arvinder Singh of the Umang Welfare Foundation, Senior Vice President Anurag Acharya (Cyber Expert), Program Coordinator Dr. Gaganpreet Kaur, and other Team members led an interactive discussion on this concept. Words like “grooming,” “data theft,” “hacking,” “fishing,” “cloning,” and “hacking” were taught to the kids. The students were also given a plethora of case studies, which served to alleviate some of their concerns regarding data security and privacy. He gave some advice on secure online banking and transactions before calling the meeting to a close. Mr. Anurag mentioned during the meeting that aviation cyber security is a top concern for the sector. Although digitalization and technology provide benefits, they also make it more difficult to manage security vulnerabilities. It is crucial to defend against digital threats against civil aviation companies, operations, and passengers. He concluded the lecture by saying, “We should use the internet responsibly because it’s a technology, not a toy,” and gave the URL for reporting cybercrimes. The college principal and the team members gave consoling gifts to those who finished the online hygiene quiz.
